About

I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine. - John Galt

Hey there, and welcome to my site! I'm Kevin - a software engineer with a passion for agriculture. This site serves as my home on the internet, where I publish articles, videos, and more on tech and agriculture related topics such as

  • Full-stack software development
  • Self-hosting
  • Vertical & regenerative farming
  • etc

If you'd like to receive email newsletters about those topics, be sure to subscribe! 😄

Now, a little bit about myself:

I'm from St. Louis, and have been working with technology since 2010, where I started out as a help-desk support specialist at a local school district. I ran my own gym teaching Krav Maga from 2015 - 2018 and, in 2018, I made the transition from IT support to software development while working for an agriculture company in Springfield. Currently, I work as a full stack software engineer focusing on C# & .Net.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time working at a local farmer's market and helping on my grandparent's farm, so I guess it's not much of a surprise that I've always been drawn to agriculture and farming!

I had a renewed interest in the field around 2018 - 2019 though, when I first learned about vertical farming. I found it fascinating, especially since it involved a mix of technology and farming - two of my main interests.

Since then, I've started building my own "farm" with a combination of traditional growing and indoor hydroponics. I say "farm" in quotes, because it's really just a garden in my back yard, but being able to make a living from that would be amazing.

Side note: It's actually kind of funny (interesting?) how many people in tech and software get fed up and just want to have a farm after a few years...

More coming soon!
